9 Months

Hey, an update on Daniel at 9 months AND it’s my 900th post. Wow, I’ve had a lot to say about nothing.

Anyway, Daniel turned 9 months in December so here are his 9 month stats:

Height: 28 inches (34%)

Weight: 19 lbs 15 oz (55%)

Head: 17 3/4 inches (52%)

He’s following right along his growth curve, so that’s good. I feel like he’s huge, but he’s very averaged sized. (Relatively huge for a child with Down syndrome though.) Here are some tidbits about Daniel at 9 months:

He’s started commando crawling! He started it up just a couple weeks ago so now he’s getting into everything. His favorite things to go after are power cords and anything made of paper. Obviously.

He got a Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn puppy for Christmas and he LOVES it. His eyes light up when it starts singing and then he smiles and dances. It’s adorable.

Still no teeth.

He likes every food we’ve fed him, but still doesn’t really chew so much as suck food off a spoon. We’ll be working on this with his OT and speech therapist in the coming months.

He seems like he’s less interested in taking a bottle, but he doesn’t drink out of a cup yet, so I’m not sure where that’s gonna go.

He continues to be the most adorable baby ever.

  1. Babies and teeth weird me out. Some get them SO EARLY. Some so late. Yet, kind of like potty training, everyone pretty much has it nailed down by 5th grade. (5th grade being my benchmark for most parental failures.)

  2. Oh, nine months is probably my favorite age for a baby. Baby Pacey at nine months was just about perfection.

Weird tooth thing with my kids: both of them got their fangs before any other top teeth. Vampire babies!!
