Alright, after that last post I feel like I should update you on the things Daniel CAN do these days.
He can stand! Holding on to the furniture, after I put him there. But he used to just fall down right away, so this is progress! (This started happening at the beginning of the month.)
He can get into a sitting position by himself! This is especially exciting to me, because we’ve been working on this for a LONG time in therapy. Seeing all that work finally pay off is pretty great. Brian found him like this in the crib a couple mornings ago:
Looks pretty pleased with himself, doesn’t he?
AND, most recently, he has started doing “so big” without me having to pull his hands up! This happened just in the last couple days, and actually, if it had happened before Wednesday I could have answered yes to one more question on the survey. (Does your baby play at least one nursery game if you ask, even if you don’t show him the activity? Question 4 in the “communication” section.) Anyway, Brian took a video of it, but I can’t upload it, so you’ll just have to take my word for it that it’s the cutest thing ever in the history of the world.
And one bonus happy baby picture to end on.
Seriously, he is so cute. And he looks SO proud of himself in that sitting up picture.
I love the “Hey! Look what I did!” look.
It’s learning time! Hand. Green Hand. Yaaaaaaaaay!
(We have that same dog. Simon looooves it.)
I totally read those in the dog voice. Daniel is SO into that dog. (It’s our second one- Kalena had one but it was worn out before Daniel got here.)
He DOES look incredibly proud of himself. He is so cute.
Right? Super pleased about it.
Awww, he’s looking like such a big boy these days! One of the things I am enjoying most about Pacey being in school is that his teachers will point out things he can do, or strengths he has that other, typically-developing children can’t do or don’t have. I am actually WAY over comparing him to his peers but every parent likes to hear that their kid has some special talents/abilities in whatever category 🙂
One of the things I love about having 3 kids is that constant reminder that all kids are different, and that they each have their own strengths.
Yay Daniel!!! Yay for Daniel’s Mommy! I was so happy to see this post!
And I was happy to write it 🙂
I was just thinking about blogs the other day and what fortuitous timing it was when we started blogging, we’ve gotten to catch so many things! Big things, small things, from new babies to little new baby skills. I’m so glad we’ve all kept it up! If I were a snarky kind of a girl (whaaaat? never!) I’d call it a tender mercy 🙂
Gustavson girls being snarky? We would NEVER!
And yes, agreed, blogging has been a great way to keep up with keeping track of everything.
It’s amazing how many times I see a picture of Daniel and at first glance I think it’s Will!
They look so much alike, right?
